Short Bio

The Going Jessies is a lyric-driven Americana band from central Arkansas that capitalizes on the stirring harmonies created by the uniquely compatible voices of Derek Wood (vocals/guitar/keys) and his partner, Angela Paradis (vocals/bass). Along with longtime friend and drummer James Breeding (drums/percussion), the trio blends elements of folk, country, rock and more into a big tent musical experience with a welcoming vibe and broad appeal described by one local music promoter as “country soul”.  Perhaps that inclusive quality accounts for why audiences are often seen attempting to sing along with the band’s original tunes, songs they’ve never actually heard before but are certain they know.

The band’s recorded works include a self-produced 2015 EP entitled 'Let's Go' and a full length studio album, ‘Money Love & Pain’, released in October of 2019.

Playing an eclectic mix of originals and atypical covers, The Going Jessies currently perform throughout the state of Arkansas at venues ranging from live music clubs to sidewalk festivals to the occasional living room.
